Welcome!

We are a small, French inspired restaurant in the heart of Virginia. Our name, ‘Près des Prés’ means “near the meadows.” Our name sake is our family home and farm, The Meadows (visit our farm website here).

The owner of Pres Des Pres, Andrew Pearson, dreamed of opening a restaurant in Gordonsville because of his love for the town and its people. This is a family operated establishment so you will find Andrew’s wife Lauren and daughters serving guests some evenings. Our restaurant filled a hole in the town for a more high end and French dining experience.

Chef Abigail Duck runs our one (wo)man kitchen. She aims our menu to feature seasonal, interesting, French inspired dishes. Chef Duck’s culinary background includes her studies at Johnson & Wales Culinary School in Providence, RI and most notably, her time at the fine dining restaurant, Tasting Counter, formerly located in Somerville, MA.
